Megan started dancing at the age of two and attended the Jacqui Wilson Dance School in Bishopbriggs which then became Dance UK as it is today. In the early years she was taught by Jacqui Wilson and Kristeen Brady and continued dancing with Dance UK until she graduated in 2018.
As a pupil, she participated in a number of extra classes which gave her the opportunity to reach her full potential. Megan had a special interest in Ballet and attended Ballet Elite classes progressing through ISTD from primary to Grade 6.
She also had a passion for acting and singing and was part of Young Performers at Dance UK. and performed in many pantomimes and musicals, perfecting her performing skills.
She also auditioned to join Dance UK Pro as as she wanted to take dance more seriously and studied Classical Ballet, Tap and Modern Theatre and achieved her grade 5 ISTD Tap award, Grade 5 Modern and Grade 6 ballet.
Megan was also part of the Dance UK Show Team, which gave her the opportunity to perform at Events all over Glasgow such as George Square Christmas Lights Events and the Glasgow Evening times Awards Ceremonies and also another highlight of her was taking lead role of Tracy Turnblad in Dance UK’s adaptation of Hairspray at Motherwell Theatre.
At the age of 16 she applied for the role of a T/A (teaching assistant) at Dance UK Bishopbriggs and continues in this role today. From being class assistant, this made Megan realise she had a real passion for teaching and choreography. She has recently achieved the BATD Associate freestyle teaching qualification.
She is currently at The University of the West of Scotland studying Sports Coaching. She graduated from Glasgow Kelvin College with her HND and hopes to become a PE Teacher in the future.
Being part of Dance UK means Megan is able to pass on her love of dance and performing and work with children to help them reach their full potential while having lots of fun.
