Getting the right introduction to any activity for children is essential and our popular Dance Academy is a fantastic place for girls from 5yrs to 18yrs to enjoy learning to dance.

Achieve Your Goals

Academy classes are a great place to learn with options to audition for further ADVANCED COURSES, GRADED EXAMS and ANNUAL STAGE PERFORMANCES as pupils progress.

Meet New Friends

The majority of our pupils start at 2 and keep dancing with us until they Graduate at around 18!  Our Academy is a big club and all our pupils are active members who share a love for dancing. This shared interest sees the formations of lifelong friendships and is one of the many benefits that being a member of a dance school can provide.

Qualified Teachers

Our Teachers hold Qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing London and/or Royal Academy of Dance and British Association of Teachers of Dancing so are highly trained Professionals. Our Staff also undergo continuous professional development by attending regular training to keep up to date with the latest teaching methodology so Parents can be assured of Consistent Quality and Standards.

We teach the Graded Examination Syllabus of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and The British Association of Teachers of Dancing. Whilst exams offer a goal and mark achievement, exams are not compulsory.

The ISTD Exams are Ofqual accredited qualifications and accrue points towards for university and college entrance, similar to a Music or Drama Exam at School. They also form part of the rigorous training required to become a professional dancer and/or teacher.

Dance is Fun

Skills For Life

Working hard to master new choreography, perform on stage or passing an exam are all worthwhile experiences for our students and provide the important  ‘transferable skills’  beneficial in many different careers.  We have also welcomed Senior Pupils for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme and provided work experience weeks for students.

Showing Potential

The fitness and social benefits of dance are well documented however any of our pupils who are serious about a career in performing and/or teaching can audition for our PRO DANCE Course at around the age of 14yrs. This course prepares them for entry to full-time training at colleges of Performing Arts at around age 18.  Former Pro Dance Graduates have trained at Dance For All College, Edinburgh, Arts Educational School, London and London Studio Centre and are now employed as dancers, singers, actors, freelance teachers, dance school owners, educators and fitness professionals worldwide.

Stage Performances

Shows are a great way for children to transfer their skills from studio to stage. And it’s a chance for Parents to relax and feel proud and have happy memories.     Special Show choreography is taught in the weekly Academy Classes with further rehearsals near the opening night.  It’s a fun experience for children however it is not compulsory.  Special costumes are worn however we endeavor to keep prices as low as possible with no sewing required by mum!  Shows are professionally staged to a high standard within the budget and tickets are sold to cover the costs.  We also work in partnership with Yorkhill Hospital at showtime and have raised many thousands of pounds over the years for this very worthy cause.

Our students love to dance together in a happy safe environment and that is why we take great care to ensure our lessons are challenging yet fun and our teachers are caring professionals able to inspire the next generation.

At Dance UK our ‘Academy’ Programme is the basis of what is, arguably, one of the most successful Children’s Dance Schools in the UK.  This great start means our pupils can transition with confidence either to our Advanced Courses or simply enjoy a fantastic activity that can be continued into adulthood.

Our Academy Programme has been designed and developed by Dance UK Principal,  Jacqui Wilson, and her Team and she personally keeps a continuous eye on quality and standards to ensure both pupils and teachers continue to be the best they can be.

The Academy is the ideal place for dancers of all ages.

Settling In

Parents are welcome to remain in the class until children are settled in.

Class Uniform

It’s important for children to be dressed appropriately for lessons so we have a class uniform.  Long Hair should be tied back.  We also recommend that new children wear leggings and soft shoes to start with and Parents only purchase uniforms once children are settled in. Teachers can advise on uniform sizing, prices and ordering.

We offer a free ‘taster’ class then fees are paid weekly for the first month to settle in. After the ‘settling in period’  fees are paid monthly online.
