Suzanne Shanks

Suzanne.  From a young age  took part in many shows and competitions winning the titles of Scottish Junior Tap and Ballet Champion at 13 and Scottish Senior Ballet Champion at 15.   She also successfully auditioned for three seasons pantomime as part of the children’s chorus in the Kings Theatre where her love of dance and performing began.

She furthered her training at the Dance School of Scotland and The London Studio Centre where she graduated with her teaching qualifications, diploma in musical theatre and a 21. BA (hons )degree from Middlesex University in Theatre Dance.

 

Upon graduation Suzanne travelled the world working as a professional dancer on cruise ships and performed in many pantomimes and shows across the UK.  Although now teaching full time she continues to develop her theatre skills having most recently performed the roles of ‘Miss McCormack’ and ‘Muriel’ in Neil Simons Plaza Suite at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.

Suzanne joined Dance UK in 2010.  She enjoys working with all the other talented teachers and has been made to feel very welcome as part of the team.  Her favourite part of teaching is being able to pass on her knowledge and passion for dance and theatre to her students.  She is looking forward to another successful and fun year here with Dance UK.
