For the past 15 years, we have supported Yorkhill Children’s Charity in Glasgow and are proud to announce this year, we raised a fantastic total of: £1250.58 .
This amazing sum was raised at 2 of our much loved annual events:
Dance UK LIVE 2017 , our all singing, all dancing showbiz production with a cast of 400!
and Dance UK’s Streetdance Convention 2017, our amazing event showcasing all our breakdancers in competition and performance with guest judge, Peter Maniam, founder of Random Aspekts Dance Company.
A few weeks ago, teachers and pupils at Dance UK Baillieston hosted this year’s Official Cheque Presentation and the lovely Suzanne came along to accept the cheque on the night on behalf of what is now Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity . All the pupils performed for Suzanne and a packed audience of friends and families too. It was a brilliant evening and everyone had a great time which you can see from the pictures.
The big cheque also went on tour to Dance UK Wishaw so check out if your wee one is in all these great shots taken on the day.
Suzanne, on behalf of the GCHC would like to thank everyone once again for all our efforts and generosity
Jacqui Wilson, Principal of Dance UK, would like to thank all the Pupils who were involved in the Summer Events…you are all amazing !
And finally a massive thank you as always to our amazing families who support this great cause every year…!
Thank you everyone so much
Roll on Dance UK LIVE 2018!

Annual Summer Show Spectacular
A big thanks to everyone involved in this year’s summer show ..a fabulous night at Motherwell Theatre… here is a clip from the show with music from the operetta Orpheus in the Underworld written by Jacques Offenbach and first performed in Paris 1858 however the dance style most associated with this music is much older. The Can-can dates back to the 1820s and has its roots in French social dance and early Parisien music hall. Dancers have been thrilling audiences across the world performing the can-can for almost two hundred years and I think our girls and choreographer, Susan Haldane have done a fantastic job of this classic dance style. It was an amazing opening night and we can’t wait to see their next two performances ..
There are still a few tickets left for the remaining Dance UK Live shows on 25th and 26th June 2017 so don’t miss out contact http://www.danceuk.co.uk for details
Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in Dance UK Live 2017…

“Go beyond where you think you can go”
Miss Haldane and some of our 7 to 8 year olds working out during their Saturday class in Bellahouston Park. We are all looking forward to the big LIVE SHOW returning to Motherwell Theatre in June and preparations are well under way so look out for more video posts like this in the coming weeks as the excitement builds…..
Also please remember our school is currently full but we are enrolling now for August with places on a first come basis so contact us via Contact Us page to be sure of a place then.
I hope you enjoy this clip shot on my i phone and made for sharing with your friends and family!
Dance Exams at our school are open to all pupils at all levels and the students in this class video are preparing for their Grade 4 ISTD Ballet Qualification.
Guest tutor, Miss Elizabeth Henderson is seen here giving the girls a ‘mock exam’ , containing all the elements of the exam itself in preparation for the day when an official ISTD accredited examiner from the ISTD in London visits Dance UK to conduct the examinations.
The examination structure is designed to cater equally for those who wish to progress to making dance their profession, either as a performer or dance teacher, and for those pursuing dance purely as a serious hobby. Equally importantly, the exams accrue UCAS points for entry to University so are a very worthwhile qualification to hold.
At Dance UK we have been delivering premiere dance education in and around Glasgow for over 30 years and the above clip was shot at our School, based in Bellahouston Park, where we opened in 1989.
Our aim of “Bringing ballet to Bellahouston” is still as strong today with hundreds of dancers from all over training with us year after year.
Thanks to fantastic support from local parents over the years ,we have established a solid reputation for excellence and value in equal measure and being in the same location on the same day for so long has allowed us to build a strong community link where we see generations of parents and pupils enjoying a life of dance, fun and fitness which gives us pleasure and inspiration to achieve even more in the next 30 years!
Exciting times ahead for everyone who makes ‘Dance UK’ what it is today.
A place to dance, a place to learn, a place to grow,
