Dance UK Academy (for age 5-18yrs)
ENROLLING NOW

Girls and boys are enrolled from 5 to 18 years old. Pupils have usually graduated from the Mini Movers Pre-School Dance Course but complete beginners are also welcome.

Academy pupils take 3 classes once a week in Classical ballet, tap dance and Commercial Dance which covers jazz dance technique, hip hop, street dance, acrobatics, disco freestyle and cheerleading(competitive and recreational.. )

Musical theatre and Chorus Singing is also taught for Stage Shows.

Examinations in Dance

Dance UK are registered to teach the syllabus of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and our teachers are qualified to train pupils for graded exams which are optional but are a recognised way to confirm progress, build confidence and learn the correct techniques.

For pupils who enjoy dance as a recreational hobby, we offer medal tests and class awards. For the more serious student, we offer places on the Dance Uk Elite training course which further develops children with special talent.
Academy

Stage Productions

Dance UK’s very successful Production Company stages full scale, professional Stage Shows and Events. All Academy Pupils are invited to perform in these shows.

In recent years Dance UK Productions have staged sell out Shows at the
Mitchell Theatre, Motherwell Theatre, Citizens Theatre, Glasgow , Theatre Royal, Glasgow. and most recently at the Clyde Auditorium, SECC, Glasgow .

Dance UK Shows are always memorable events for performers and audiences alike.

Events

The year is packed with optional events such as Exams, Open Days, Dance Workshops, Summer Schools, Competitions, Guest Tutors and Theatre Trips.

What to Wear

For new starts, comfortable loose clothing and trainers are ideal.We recommend pupils
settle in first before investing in dance shoes etc.

On the first day, pupils receive a welcome pack which tells you what you will need to
wear, i.e. tap shoes, leotard etc . You will also receive a current price list and order
form.
